Now that New York State has released the guidelines for allowing visitation in nursing homes and adult care facilities, Kendal at Ithaca staff are hard at work developing procedures and protocols that can meet these guidelines. Ideally, visits will occur outdoors. There are specific limits by proportion of how many visits can be held. Obviously, strict adherence to the mask and physical distancing requirements are stressed. In fact, if a visitor violates these requirements they may lose the opportunity to visit.
A facility must be COVID free for 28 days prior to starting visits and any positive case will end visits for all until another 28 days have elapsed. Stay tuned for the Kendal at Ithaca specific plans for visits.
