Community Overview

A Retirement Community Shaped by Residents

Nestled in the scenic Finger Lakes region, Kendal at Ithaca offers more in a retirement community than just a beautiful campus and comprehensive care. Here, residents actively shape their own experience, fostering a unique sense of community and connection.

This resident-driven approach is at the heart of the “Kendal spirit.” Residents design and lead a rich program of activities, from intellectual pursuits to social gatherings and spiritual exploration. Volunteerism flourishes within the community and beyond, reflecting a commitment to engagement and purpose.

The result? A vibrant and dynamic atmosphere that reflects the passions and priorities of the people who call Kendal at Ithaca home.

Steeped in History

The community welcomed its first residents in 1995 and is based in Quaker tradition and on the philosophy that growing older can bring new opportunities for growth and development.

I think every year I grow into loving the Kendal lifestyle more, appreciating the residents, staff and everyone’s desire–to make the best possible life we can create here. It’s a pretty ideal new age Utopia for growing.
