Update for November 23, 2020

November 23, 2020 Update

We have some exciting news to share!

Kendal reached out to LeadingAge NY and NYSDOH regarding the 14-day postponement of visitation for Taughannock House because of the unusual circumstances that triggered it.

You may recall that the staff member who tested positive on November 18 had not been on campus since November 8. We felt that the likelihood of exposure was extremely low. There was no close contact with any other staff or residents detected.

Since being alerted, we have tested all Taughannock House residents with all negative results, and we have not had any staff test positive.

Based on these facts, the state has granted us permission to restart visitation.

We do have visitation times available on Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday this week for those of you wishing to visit a loved one. Please remember you must have a negative COVID test in the previous seven days.

To arrange a visit, please call Kasey Cole at 266-5368.

We hope that this news will make Thanksgiving a little brighter for some.
