We knew Janie Bibbie as the Director of Human Resources for the first 20 years of Kendal at Ithaca’s existence and her calm and resourceful presence served us very well. After her retirement she began writing, primarily in her journals, and her writing evolved into a book, Alzheimer’s Up Close and Personal, and many volumes of poetry. She was recently voted Poet Laureate of Tompkins County for a two year term and returned to Kendal for a reading of her poetry on May 26th. Residents and former co-workers enjoyed the variety that she shared with us. We do have a very active group of poets and other writers living here…and apparently working here!
