As a Lifecare community, Kendal at Ithaca allows people over the age of 65 to enjoy life at its fullest, knowing a safety net of care and services is in place for them and their families.

The Lifecare option for retirement living is an alternative that offers adults, under one contract, a residence, residential amenities, healthy living support and access to a continuum of long-term care services in a vibrant community setting. It is the only financial structure under which residential services are provided that include long-term healthcare in the form of a predictable monthly fee. Opportunities for engagement come in the dining experience, social activities, volunteering on and off campus, serving on committees or contributing to philanthropic projects.

The New York State Department of Health website has an excellent summary of Continuing Care Retirement Communities, CCRCs, in New York State.
