Regaining Strength and Independence: Short-Term Rehabilitation at Kendal at Ithaca
Kendal at Ithaca offers short-term rehabilitation services designed to help seniors regain strength and independence after a medical event, surgery, or illness. While this program is used primarily for residents, Kendal will gladly accept short term per diem admissions as availability allows.
This program provides access to excellent support in a modern, comfortable well-staffed environment.
Accepting Per Diem Admissions
The ability to accept per diem admissions depends on the following criteria.

Please keep in mind, patients must have a three-day inpatient stay at the hospital.
- Alignment of clinical needs: Kendal will evaluate each case to be sure our ability to meet the patients clinical needs aligns with their expectations for care.
- Well defined discharge plan: A good discharge plan is necessary to be sure we meet the obligations of all parties involved.
- Availability of rooms: While it is likely Kendal has space for a few short term admissions, we may not always be able to meet the community demand.
