Update for November 8, 2020

Update for November 8, 2020

Yesterday brought us to a significant milestone – 14 days with no new positive tests our Health Center or among staff – in our journey back to some sense of normalcy. After pausing activities and restricting interactions in our efforts to bring COVID under control in our community, we can now move ahead – carefully and measuredly – to begin a phased re-opening of many activities.

Here is the welcome report from yesterday, with no new news to change it:

A happy day for Kendal at Ithaca.  We’ve received 27 Taughannock House results and 86 staff results – all negative.  This is the news we’ve been waiting for.  Thank you to all of the residents, staff and the outside experts (CMC lab, DOH epidemiology, CDC Foundation to name a few) that helped us move past the outbreak in the Health Center.  We know that the risk for COVID remains very high for our community, and that we are likely to battle it again, but for this moment, we are going to celebrate!
