Update for November 18, 2020

Planning for a Safe Thanksgiving

We wanted to share the guidance we are giving our residents, staff and visitors about holiday celebrations and visitations. We hope that you are able to have a meaningful holiday while staying safe. As we head deeper into flu season, there is even more motivation for being as careful as possible.

“Kendal asks everyone – residents, staff members, visitors – to take the guidelines for gatherings seriously and minimize group gatherings over the holidays.

The CDC recommends celebrating Thanksgiving with people in your household or others with whom you regularly interact only. Keep groups small (10 or fewer persons).

See https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/daily-life-coping/holidays/thanksgiving.html for the full guidance.

Please wear your mask and social distance no matter where you are.

Consider sharing “virtual” Thanksgiving meals with friends or family who don’t live with you.

If you do choose to have guests from outside of Kendal, we ask that you initiate a two-week voluntary self-isolation after the gathering.

If you attend family gatherings for Thanksgiving or during the holiday season, again, please initiate a two-week voluntary self-isolation after the gathering.

If you are traveling out of state, please review our travel requirements, which are consistent with the New York State guidelines but we do not exclude Pennsylvania from the travel requirements. “

Be well,
