Update for June 5, 2020

Cautious steps to reopening !

In conjunction with the KAI New Normal Committee, Kendal at Ithaca has taken steps to loosen some of the restrictions on the campus. As does NY Forward, we’ll continue to monitor for any change in our COVID-free status and make adjustments to these new protocols as necessary.

Effective immediately, residents living in cottages and apartments may entertain visitors in their private homes. The number of visitors can be no more than six and must be adjusted according to the size of the residence and the ability to maintain social distancing. All visitors should also wear masks. For visitors to apartments, there is the additional requirement for screening upon entering the building. We are still not able to welcome visitors to indoor common areas, conference rooms or other gathering areas. Also, outdoor gatherings should not exceed six people.

Good news – independent living residents will be able to use the Beauty Salon under its new operating guidelines. We cannot yet invite residents of our Health Center to return because of State and Federal regulations still in place.

Finally, the tennis courts are open for singles play by residents of Kendal at Ithaca only – no guests. Each player must use their own balls according to a system devised in California.

Small steps, but some welcome relief. If you have questions for the Marketing Team about joining the community, please call us at 607-266-5300 or 800-253-6325. We can work with you now and facilitate your move to Kendal.
