Update for June 2, 2021

Unfortunate news to report today. Late this afternoon, an employee of the Health Center tested positive for COVID-19. All residents were rapid tested and are negative. The employee who tested positive has only been on the Owasco neighborhood so we believe exposure to other neighborhoods is extremely minimal.

Visitation to Owasco will be suspended for a minimum of 14 days (pending no new positives). Compassionate visits are still permitted and must be approved in advance by the facility. Owasco has been placed on transmission-based precautions (eye protection, n95 masks, gowns, and gloves) for a minimum of 14 days.

We are required to have all staff produce a negative test before visitation in Taughannock House can resume. Therefore, visitation for Cayuga and Seneca are temporarily restricted until testing of all staff can be completed per New York State Department of Health guidance.

The positive does not impact visitation or group activities in Cascadilla House at this time.

For the time being, if you have questions about what is open and what is not, please call Kasey Cole, 607-266-5368, or the social worker with whom you normally communicate.
