Update for January 4, 202

January 4, 2021 Moving Forward !

The first staff member of Kendal at Ithaca to be vaccinated today !

Today was a historic day at Kendal at Ithaca. Thirty-nine (all but 2) of skilled nursing residents and 99 staff received the first COVID vaccine dose today! This was the Pfizer vaccine – second doses will be administered on January 25th

Our Executive Director steps up to fight COVID, showing great strength after her vaccination today.

We still do not have information on when vaccinations will be available for Assisted Living or Independent Living residents – I will communicate information as soon as I have it.

On New Year’s Day we had an employee in health care dining test positive.  In consultation with the local Department of Health, we did not identify any high risk exposures for residents or staff.  According to state regulation, this positive result extends the no visitation requirement for fourteen days, but we do not think that the full precautions for C House will need to be extended.  Hospitalizations in the county are at an all time high – please continue to exercise extreme diligence with social distancing, mask wearing, and avoiding crowds in all circumstances.
