Made with Love, Made with Friends

For the past twelve years, Kendal at Ithaca’s residents have come together and created beautiful, useful quilts for the national Comfort Quilts Program. This year we donated an amazing 83 pieces!  The quilts were on display in the Craft Room from February 22nd until the 26th.  When the show ended, the Tompkins County Quilters’ Guild collected and distributed the quilts to those in need.  This year’s recipients included the Child Development Council of Tompkins County, Cayuga Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Golisano Children’s Hospital in Syracuse, Cayuga Medical Center and several smaller local agencies.

There are a few rules: quilts must be 100% cotton and measure 30×36 inches to 40×60 inches. They must be pieced, finished and bound by machine to keep them sturdy and safe for youngsters. Kendal Quilters are always looking to expand the circle of friendship, regardless of experience. Take a moment and check out what’s happening in the Craft Room.
